On the evening of February 27, Wang Qian, General Manager of the New Energy Brand at Dongfeng Nissan Motor Sales Co., Ltd., publicly questioned on Weibo whether GAC Toyota’s promotional materials for its new vehicle涉嫌 plagiarism. He pointed out that the layout, structure, and visual language used in GAC Toyota’s promotional images and videos were “highly consistent” with those previously released for the Teana HarmonyOS Cockpit launch—so much so that “it’s not just similar; it’s practically identical.” Although Wang did not explicitly name GAC Toyota in his post, he included clear side-by-side comparisons showing GAC Toyota’s marketing materials. He emphasized that this was “not the first or second time” such an incident had occurred and urged, “If you’re going to copy homework, could you at least change a few details?” Both companies are based in Guangzhou, and the incident has drawn significant attention within the automotive industry.
