ams OSRAM recently launched the AS5173 magnetic position sensor, specifically designed to meet the high demands for precision and reliability in electric vehicles (EVs). As automotive electrification accelerates, EVs—being heavier than conventional vehicles—place greater demands on damping and chassis control systems. This sensor delivers highly accurate position feedback, enabling real-time adjustment of vehicle ride height by the chassis system to optimize aerodynamic performance, thereby reducing energy consumption and extending driving range. Additionally, in critical scenarios such as emergency evasive maneuvers, the sensor ensures rapid response, enhancing both driving safety and ride comfort.
