SAIC Volkswagen has officially unveiled the interior of its new flagship SUV, the ID. ERA 9X, centered around the design philosophy of “Harmony of Square and Round,” blending German functional aesthetics with Eastern spatial philosophy. The cabin features a “staggered floating” structure, with the center console and door panels employing three-dimensional deconstruction to enhance spatial perception. The vehicle is equipped with a 15.6-inch dual-screen setup for driver and front passenger, along with a 21.4-inch foldable rear ceiling-mounted screen. A viewing-angle compensation film ensures an immersive audiovisual experience. Ambient lighting spans 12.8 meters throughout the cabin, arranged in a four-layer wraparound layout enhanced by diffuse reflection technology to amplify the sense of envelopment. The ID. ERA 9X adopts a spacious six-seat configuration, marketed with the claim that “every seat is the best seat.” With dimensions of 5,207 mm in length, 1,997 mm in width, and 1,810 mm in height—and a wheelbase of 3,070 mm—it is the largest SUV ever launched under the Volkswagen brand. Powering the ID. ERA 9X is a 1.5T range extender (maximum output: 105 kW) paired with a 65.2 kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range exceeding 400 km.
