Great Wall Motor Chairman Wei Jianjun recently announced that WEY will launch its new AI-powered luxury six-seater flagship SUV—the V9X. Built on the "Guiyuan S" high-end technology series of the "Guiyuan Platform," the vehicle integrates Great Wall's most advanced technologies and, for the first time, incorporates the "Qilin"—a symbol deeply rooted in Chinese traditional culture. Wei stated that the Qilin represents auspiciousness, composure, and majesty, and that the new model will embody Eastern elegance and the noble demeanor of a benevolent leader. Additionally, Great Wall drew inspiration from Dujiangyan’s ancient “40-60 water diversion” principle to develop its Hi4-Z power-split technology, while movable-type printing inspired the design of the "Guiyuan" platform. The V9X was submitted to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for approval in early February, featuring a full-width LED daytime running light, an illuminated floating logo, and vertically arranged intelligent driving light modules—showcasing an entirely new design language.
