On March 2, GAC Aion launched the AION i60 National Range-Extended Edition "210 Ma Dao Cheng Gong," priced at RMB 102,800, making it the brand's most affordable range-extended SUV. While retaining core features such as a 1.5L range-extender system, 210 km of pure electric range, a combined range of 1,240 km, and intelligent driving assistance, the new entry-level model trims non-essential comfort features like power-adjustable front passenger seats, a power tailgate, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. It is specifically targeted at budget-conscious families. As Aion’s current sales pillar, the AION i60 has gained rapid popularity since its launch in November 2025, surpassing 10,000 units in December and helping the brand reverse its sales decline. This new base variant aims to further lower the price barrier, strengthen competitiveness in the sub-RMB-100,000 segment, and accelerate the brand’s shift toward the consumer (C-end) family market. However, amid seasonal market slowdowns, intensifying competition, and uncertain consumer acceptance of reduced specifications, whether this move can sustainably boost sales remains to be seen.
