On March 3, XPeng announced that since the launch of its second-generation VLA intelligent driving system on March 2, over 80% of the firm orders for the 2026 XPeng X9 have been for the VLA-equipped version—setting a new historical record. XPeng CEO He Xiaopeng stated that current end-to-end small models have reached their performance ceiling, marking a "watershed moment" for intelligent driving development. The second-generation VLA system will begin global deliveries in 2027, with Volkswagen as its first customer. Launched simultaneously, the all-electric 2026 XPeng X9 MPV boasts a CLTC-rated range of 750 km, an energy consumption of 15.9 kWh per 100 km, and comes standard across all trims with the Turing chip (delivering up to 2,250 TOPS of computing power) and 5C ultra-fast charging capability. Pricing starts at RMB 309,800.
