FAW Group recently announced a key breakthrough in its all-solid-state battery development, successfully overcoming core technical challenges related to materials and interfaces. Through extensive testing and formulation optimization, the battery has completely resolved the thermal runaway issues associated with conventional liquid electrolyte batteries—its cells remain non-flammable even at temperatures as high as 200°C, surpassing the physical limits of traditional batteries. The battery has now entered the vehicle integration and testing phase. According to the company’s roadmap, by 2026 it aims to achieve an energy density of 400 Wh/kg at the cell level and realize a battery system with zero thermal propagation, while simultaneously conducting validation under major real-world driving conditions. Additionally, at its recent technology innovation deployment conference, FAW showcased its Lingxi AI cockpit and over-the-air (OTA) production line upgrades, and revealed strategic initiatives in cutting-edge fields such as embodied intelligence and flying cars, accelerating its transformation into an AI- and big data-driven technology enterprise.
