On March 2, the People's Government of Hainan Province and Baidu signed an agreement in Haikou to deepen their strategic cooperation. The two parties will establish a coordination and advancement task force and set up a regularized cooperation mechanism, with a focus on promoting the orderly cross-border flow of intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) data and building Hainan into a high-level industrial ecosystem hub for ICVs. The collaboration includes launching the construction of Baidu’s “Apollo Go” international regional center for autonomous driving and establishing in Hainan an integrated operations center that combines intelligent connectivity, data innovation, and distinctive cultural tourism. Additionally, both sides will further strengthen cooperation in the digital economy by building intelligent computing infrastructure and exploring applications of large artificial intelligence models, thereby supporting the quality enhancement and upgrading of Hainan’s digital economy system.
