NIO has announced that its flagship SUV, the ES9, will make its official debut on April 9. The new model features the brand’s latest family design language, including an elevated "Sharknose" front fascia and upgraded double-layered Doubledash daytime running lights. It is equipped with three roof-mounted LiDAR units and integrates NIO’s AQUILA Super Sensing system. With dimensions of 5,365 mm in length, 2,029 mm in width, and 1,870 mm in height—and a wheelbase of 3,250 mm—the ES9 is larger than the ES8. The rear adopts a minimalist design highlighted by a full-width Threelayer taillight. Powering the ES9 is a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering a combined output of 520 kW and peak torque of 700 N·m. It is paired with a 102 kWh battery pack from CATL, offering a maximum CLTC-rated range of 620 km. Additionally, NIO plans to launch minor updates this year for its “5566” vehicle lineup—comprising the ET5, ET5 Touring, ES6, and EC6. The refreshed models will feature a new blue indicator light for advanced driver-assistance functions, and the ES6 and EC6 will offer an optional zero-gravity front seat.
