Nokian Tyres has launched the world’s first winter tire capable of automatically adjusting grip based on temperature—the Hakkapeliitta 01. Equipped with an intelligent stud system, the tire keeps studs extended when tread temperatures drop, enhancing traction on ice and snow. As temperatures rise, the studs automatically retract into the tread, reducing road wear and noise. This technology is enabled by a special embedded compound within the tread, allowing the tire to deliver exceptional winter performance while also ensuring comfort and environmental friendliness for everyday driving. Compared to previous versions, the Hakkapeliitta 01 is quieter, gentler on roads, and offers superior grip—further solidifying Nokian’s leadership in the premium winter tire market.
