Leapmotor L90, a model under NIO's sub-brand Onvo, is set to launch a high-end intelligent driving version equipped with LiDAR. The new variant is expected to be officially unveiled in Q2 of this year and will be sold alongside the existing vision-only version. During a live stream event on March 3 (Lantern Festival), NIO CEO William Li and Onvo President Shen Fei confirmed that the updated L90 has already appeared on the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) website. Key additions include a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, along with new exterior options such as dual-tone paint schemes and fresh wheel designs. The rear light bar features a horizontal design and supports intelligent interaction. Both versions will support advanced driver-assistance functions like highway and urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot). Due to higher hardware costs, the LiDAR-equipped version will carry a slightly higher price tag. The current L90 relies solely on a vision-based system, featuring seven 8-megapixel cameras, a 4D millimeter-wave radar, and a single Orin-X chip delivering 254 TOPS of computing power. The addition of LiDAR is expected to further enhance perception capabilities and safety in complex driving scenarios.
