According to MoparInsiders, Dodge is secretly advancing development of the Charger Hellcat, which is expected to debut as a 2028 model and hit the market in the second half of 2027. Although the project remains in its early stages, insiders suggest progress may be moving faster than publicly acknowledged. The new Hellcat will ditch the current 5.7L or 6.4L Hemi V8 engines in favor of a higher-performance V8 powerplant capable of surpassing the output of the current 550-horsepower Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six. Tim Kuniskis, head of Dodge SRT, hinted that only a “fully loaded” Hellcat could satisfy fans’ craving for the raw sound and excitement of a V8. If the new model retains its adjustable rear-wheel- or all-wheel-drive system, it would become a true year-round muscle car. Despite an anticipated price tag approaching $100,000, loyal enthusiasts will likely consider it the ultimate Charger worth waiting for.
