SAIC Volkswagen will hold a technology launch event on March 16, 2026, to officially unveil the new technologies under its ID.ERA series. Previously, on March 3, the first range extender developed based on the EA211 1.5T EVO II engine rolled off the production line and will be initially equipped on the ID.ERA 9X model. This range extender features VTG (Variable Turbine Geometry) turbocharging, deep Miller cycle combustion, a 350-bar high-pressure fuel injection system, and a water-cooled integrated intercooler, along with a close-coupled exhaust after-treatment system—collectively enhancing power generation efficiency, dynamic response, and noise performance. As the flagship large six-seater SUV, the ID.ERA 9X has already revealed its “Harmony of Square and Round” interior design and overhead screen configuration, and is expected to open for pre-orders later this month.
