At the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Technology Refresh Launch Event on March 4, Yu Chengdong, Executive Director of Huawei, officially unveiled Huawei’s new-generation dual-optical-path, image-grade 896-line LiDAR—the highest-resolution LiDAR currently in mass production worldwide. Leveraging Huawei’s proprietary dual-optical-path patented technology developed under its Qiankun platform, this LiDAR integrates two laser-receiving units with different focal lengths, enabling it to precisely detect objects as small as 14 centimeters from a distance of 120 meters. This breakthrough delivers ultra-high-definition, ultra-precise, and ultra-long-range perception, marking a significant leap for LiDAR technology from "point-cloud level" to "image level." Additionally, the sensor’s window hardness has increased by 25%, its durability has doubled, and its overall reliability has been significantly enhanced.
