On March 5, BYD officially launched its second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology. Singer Wang Leehom attended the event in person, performing a specially adapted version of his classic song "Change Myself," renamed "Change the World," to support the launch. The second-generation Blade Battery features further enhancements in safety and range, with its debut application on the 2026 Yangwang U7, which achieves a CLTC pure-electric range of 1,006 kilometers. The flash-charging technology will be progressively rolled out across multiple vehicle series, including Yangwang, Fangchengbao, Dynasty Network, and Ocean Network. Made with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, the Blade Battery has been renowned since its initial launch in 2020 for its high safety standards and outstanding performance in nail penetration tests. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD, stated that the Blade Battery is designed to address critical safety concerns in new energy vehicles and to lead the global direction of power battery technology.
