BMW will officially unveil the all-new i3 sedan (codenamed NA0) on March 18. As the first sedan in the Neue Klasse series, the vehicle completely abandons the previous hatchback design. The new model can be viewed as a sedan counterpart to the iX3, featuring an entirely new design language and a revolutionary interior. It is equipped with the latest iDrive X infotainment system and comes standard with a full-width panoramic head-up display projection. In terms of powertrain, the initial launch may offer only the i3 50 xDrive variant, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing a maximum output of 463 horsepower. It is paired with a 108 kWh battery pack and supports 400 kW ultra-fast charging, enabling a 10%–80% charge in just 21 minutes. Thanks to improved aerodynamics, its WLTP-rated range is expected to exceed the iX3’s 805 kilometers. Production of the new i3 sedan will commence in the second half of 2026 at BMW’s Munich plant. A combustion-engine version—the next-generation 3 Series—will also debut simultaneously on the same platform, sharing similar styling cues but retaining the inline-six engine.
