Polestar has announced the launch of an all-new, next-generation Polestar 2 in 2027, completely departing from the current model’s “coupe-SUV” styling and transforming into a lower-slung, more driver-focused all-electric sports sedan. Developed under the leadership of CEO Michael Lohscheller and newly appointed Head of Design Philipp Römers, the new vehicle will be approximately 100 mm longer (approaching the length of a BMW 3 Series), feature a lower roofline, and reduce SUV-inspired elements to emphasize a sportier stance. The interior will also adopt a more driver-centric layout, with the central touchscreen angled toward the driver, bolder color schemes, warmer interface tones, and the reintroduction of physical buttons. Built on Geely Group’s new unified EV platform, the car will integrate technologies from both Volvo and Geely to enhance efficiency. The new Polestar 2 is expected to go on sale in the UK in summer 2027, with a starting price slightly below £50,000 (approximately RMB 461,000).
