On the evening of March 5, BYD officially unveiled the Tang, the first D-segment flagship SUV in its Dynasty series. The new model will launch in the first half of this year. Equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and flash-charging technology, the all-electric version delivers a CLTC range of 950 km—the highest globally among large SUVs. It supports "5 minutes to charge enough, 9 minutes to fully charge," with just an additional 3 minutes required in cold weather. Measuring nearly 5.3 meters in length with a 3,130 mm wheelbase, the Tang features a 2+2+3 seating layout. The second row includes independent zero-gravity seats, overhead screens, and foldable tables, while the third row offers three headrests. Performance-wise, the EV variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 240 km/h; the DM-i version’s electric motor delivers a peak output of 300 kW. All trims come standard with BYD’s Yun辇-A intelligent body control system, dual-chamber air suspension, and road preview system, with multiple exterior styling packages available as options. BYD claims the Tang holds 29 world-first achievements among D-segment SUVs.
