GAC Group's premium new energy brand, Hyper, has officially entered its "second entrepreneurial phase." Its first flagship sedan, the Hyper A800, launched earlier this year with a starting price of RMB 189,800 (RMB 164,800 after trade-in incentives). As the cornerstone product following the brand's revitalization, the A800 deeply integrates Huawei technologies, featuring the Qiankun ADS 4.1 intelligent driving system and HarmonySpace 5 powered by Huawei’s HarmonyOS cockpit, positioning itself as a tech-luxury smart vehicle. Zhang Xiong, President of Hyper Aion BU, emphasized that the brand will no longer engage in trial-and-error approaches but fully shift toward a user-centric "New Luxury 2.0" strategy. Previously, models like the Hyper GT and HT received lukewarm market responses. With the A800 and upcoming models such as the S600, Hyper aims to break through directly in the fiercely competitive mid-to-high-end segment. Facing strong rivals like the Xiaomi SU7 and BYD Seal 08, Hyper’s ability to achieve a turnaround through systematic upgrades will be critical to its success or failure.
