Changan Auto Chairman Zhu Huarong Urges Accelerated Legislation for Autonomous Driving

During the 2026 National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (Two Sessions), Zhu Huarong, a national deputy to the National People's Congress and Chairman and Party Secretary of Changan Automobile, put forward several proposals focusing on the high-quality development of the automotive industry. He urged the state to coordinate strategic planning and implement targeted policies to strengthen fundamental industrial research and frontier technological innovation, thereby reinforcing China’s self-reliance and self-strengthening in science and technology. In particular, he emphasized the need to accelerate legislation related to autonomous driving and promote the large-scale commercialization of autonomous driving technologies for consumers, injecting new momentum into the industry’s high-quality development.
