BYD recently unveiled its new Flash Charging Station, featuring a "user-friendly" design. The station introduces the world’s first overhead sliding rail with a T-shaped pillar structure, keeping the charging cable—weighing only 2 kilograms—suspended at all times to prevent it from dragging on the ground or hardening in winter conditions. The overhead rail moves horizontally, and the charging nozzle automatically rotates, enabling plug-in and removal with just one hand—even a 63-year-old user can operate it effortlessly. In terms of performance, a single charging gun delivers a maximum power output of 1,500 kW, replenishing 400–500 kilometers of range in just five minutes—matching the efficiency of refueling at a gas station. Integrated energy storage batteries within the charging station help alleviate grid load, and construction costs are 60% lower than those of traditional megawatt-level ultra-fast chargers. The station supports dual independent charging guns with intelligent power distribution and offers plug-and-charge functionality and seamless payment via the Flash Charge app. It is compatible with all BYD models and third-party vehicles supporting 1,000V high-voltage architectures. BYD plans to build 4,000 Flash Charging Stations and establish 15,000 cooperative charging points by the end of this year, accelerating the rollout of its high-efficiency charging network.
