On March 5, BYD officially launched its second-generation "Blade" battery along with the accompanying "Flash Charge" technology. The new battery can charge from 10% to 97% in just nine minutes, offering a refueling speed comparable to that of conventional gasoline vehicles. Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD, stated that although the penetration rate of new energy passenger vehicles in China has already reached 54% in 2025, nearly half of consumers still opt for fuel-powered cars, reflecting ongoing consumer concerns about electric vehicle range and charging anxiety. This technological upgrade aims to address these pain points and accelerate the adoption of new energy vehicles.
