Li Yunfei, General Manager of BYD Group's Brand and Public Relations Division, recently stated in Shenzhen that regarding the two technological approaches—battery swapping and ultra-fast charging—BYD believes "both are great." He emphasized that these approaches are not mutually exclusive but rather represent "a flourishing diversity leading to the same destination." Li stressed that different models share the same ultimate goal: accelerating the transition from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles and addressing user pain points such as slow charging. BYD aims to offer consumers more choices through a diversified portfolio of technologies and products. Previously, BYD unveiled its second-generation Blade Battery and the world’s highest-power single-gun 1,500 kW ultra-fast charging station currently in mass production, and launched its "Ultra-Fast Charging China" strategy. Under this initiative, BYD plans to build 20,000 ultra-fast charging stations nationwide by the end of this year, including 2,000 along highways, with 1,000 of them operational before the May Day holiday.
