Recent road test footage of Xiaomi Auto's first plug-in hybrid SUV, the "YU9," has surfaced online, revealing that the prototype is already equipped with functional lighting. The taillights and brake lights are clearly illuminated in the video. Codenamed "Kunlun," the YU9 carries forward Xiaomi’s signature design language, featuring iconic teardrop-shaped side mirrors and vertical taillights. It is also expected to adopt a "Sky-and-Earth" dual-opening tailgate structure. According to reports, the YU9 measures over 5.2 meters in length and approximately 1.8 meters in height, positioning it as a large D-segment plug-in hybrid SUV, with an anticipated launch in 2026. Xiaomi Group Vice President Zhang Jianhui recently shared dynamic images of the new vehicle on social media, showing the brand’s distinctive “Xiaomi Blue” light illuminated. Additionally, Xiaomi plans to unveil four new models this year, including a refreshed SU7, an SU7 Executive Edition, and two plug-in hybrid SUVs—one with five seats and another with seven seats.
