BYD recently unveiled its second-generation Blade Battery and Megawatt Flash Charging technology. Its 1,500 kW flash charging station features an industry-leading single-gun power output and is now open to third-party brands. An owner of the Li Auto i6 became one of the first to test the system: the vehicle supports 800V 5C ultra-fast charging and achieved a peak charging power of 298 kW on BYD’s charger, replenishing from 17% to 100% in just 31 minutes—adding 73 kWh of energy at a cost of RMB 95. Although this falls short of the peak power achievable with Li Auto’s proprietary 5C charger, it still delivers a 4C fast-charging experience, significantly outperforming most public charging stations. The owner praised the exceptional charging experience and called for accelerated deployment of such high-power charging infrastructure to enhance overall energy replenishment efficiency.
