Volkswagen’s New Flagship SUV “ID.08” Launches This Month: 730km Range + Smart Dimming Panoramic Roof

Volkswagen’s all-new flagship SUV, the ID. UNYX (internally codenamed “Zhong 08”), will officially launch this month. The vehicle features 800V ultra-fast charging technology, delivering a maximum CLTC range of up to 730 km and powered by a 230 kW electric motor. Inside, the cabin boasts dual 14.96-inch curved displays and a 1.74-square-meter smart dimming panoramic roof. Ninety-five percent of the interior surfaces are soft-wrapped, and the Nappa leather seats are crafted through a meticulous 40-step process. The headliner is finished in premium suede-like material. The front passenger seat—dubbed the “Queen’s Seat”—comes standard with 14-way power adjustment, a leg rest, 10-point pneumatic massage, and a soft-glow vanity mirror. Second-row seats offer 10 degrees of recline adjustment, heating functionality, and foldable tray tables. Exterior styling highlights include sculpted body surfaces, slim LED headlights, flush door handles, and a wolf-head-inspired high-mounted brake light. The SUV measures 5 meters in length with a 3,030 mm wheelbase and is equipped with an L2++ advanced driver-assistance system.
