WeRide and Geely’s Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group have deepened their strategic partnership, planning to deliver 2,000 newly pre-installed, mass-produced Robotaxi GXR units in Q3 2026. The new vehicle will be equipped with WeRide’s latest GEN8 autonomous driving suite, featuring the core sensor system SS8.0, which integrates RoboSense’s EM4 and E1 LiDARs. The EM4 is a thousand-line-class digital main LiDAR with a maximum detection range of 600 meters, while the E1 is the industry’s first mass-produced all-solid-state blind-spot LiDAR. This system significantly enhances the vehicle’s perception capabilities in complex scenarios such as highways, heavy rain, and dense fog, increasing safety decision-making time margins by over 70%. As of January 2026, WeRide’s global Robotaxi fleet has reached 1,023 units; the addition of this new capacity will expand its operational fleet to over 2,600 vehicles, accelerating progress toward its goal of deploying 10,000 units by 2030.
