Chip Shortage and Rising Material Costs to Push Zeekr 007 GT Price Up by ¥5,000–8,000

Due to rising prices of upstream raw materials and key chips, the new energy vehicle (NEV) market is poised for a new wave of price increases. The refreshed Zeekr 007 GT, set to launch in Q2, is expected to see its price raised by RMB 5,000 to 8,000. Since the second half of 2025, automotive-grade memory chip prices have surged significantly, with DDR5 memory prices jumping by 300%. The Sol autonomous driving chip used in this model relies on the even scarcer DDR5X variant, substantially increasing cost pressures. Additionally, soaring prices of lithium and other precious metals have driven up battery costs. Analysts note that moderate price adjustments will help automakers sustain investments in R&D, quality, and customer service. Chery’s Exeed ET5 has already raised its official guidance price, and more brands are likely to follow suit.
