In February 2026, total vehicle sales in Taiwan reached 22,043 units, down 19.9% year-over-year due to the Lunar New Year holiday. Japanese brands dominated the market, with Toyota leading the pack by selling 7,279 vehicles—securing a market share of over 30%. Honda, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz followed closely behind. Among internal combustion engine vehicles, the Toyota Corolla Cross emerged as the best-seller with 2,441 units sold. In the new energy segment, 1,350 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) were registered, with the Toyota bZ4X topping the BEV sales chart at 438 units—accounting for nearly one-third of the monthly BEV market. Overall, Japanese brands maintained a commanding lead in Taiwan’s automotive market, with Toyota demonstrating particularly strong dominance.
