Huawei has now enabled the NearLink car key feature for its Mate 60 and Pura 70 series smartphones. Users need to upgrade their devices to HarmonyOS version 6.0.0.328 SP22 Beta to access this functionality. After the upgrade, a "Phone Key Upgrade" prompt will appear when connecting to a compatible vehicle, and completing the setup will activate the feature. Leveraging phase difference and time-of-flight measurements, NearLink technology delivers decimeter-level precise positioning, effectively preventing relay attacks while supporting seamless experiences such as hands-free unlocking and automatic locking. Currently supported vehicles include the Aito M7/M8/M9, Luxeed S7/R7, and Stelato S9 models scheduled for release starting in 2025. To enable the feature, go to: Settings > NearLink & Bluetooth > NearLink (requires HarmonyOS 6.0 or later). Additionally, ensure that both the Wallet app and the HarmonyOS Intelligent Mobility app are updated to their latest versions.
