During a live broadcast on China Central Television (CCTV), Wei Jianjun, Chairman of Great Wall Motor, provided a comprehensive introduction to the WEY brand’s new flagship model, the V9X. He emphasized that the V9X is built on the all-new "Guiyuan" platform, abandoning traditional internal combustion engine architectures and supporting multiple powertrain options—including battery electric, plug-in hybrid, conventional hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell—treating electrification as a standard feature and returning to the essence of mobility. The V9X features the Coffee EEA 4.0 electronic and electrical architecture, integrating a smart central system powered by “dual VLA large models + AIOS,” equipped with over 2,000 atomic capability tags to achieve cognitive intelligence. In terms of design, the vehicle incorporates traditional Chinese cultural elements inspired by Dunhuang, the Forbidden City, and the Great Wall, embodying an “imposing” Eastern aesthetic. It retains exposed mechanical door handles and employs the “gold-inlaid-jade” craftsmanship, balancing safety with a sense of premium refinement. Wei Jianjun also addressed the notion that “luxury cars must come from established premium brands,” urging China’s automotive industry to stay grounded and pragmatic, learn from outstanding global automakers like Toyota and Volkswagen, and forge a differentiated path in the intelligent vehicle race.
