At a recent customer conference and new product launch event, Skyworth Auto announced that its "Flash Charge" technology can deliver a range of 800 kilometers (approximately 500 miles) with just 8 minutes of charging. The company claimed this technology was first launched as early as September 2023, giving it a three-year lead over BYD. Chen Guizhang, Vice President of Skyworth Auto, stated that its vehicles also uniquely support a global-first "Flash Discharge" feature, enabling the car to function as a mobile fast-charging station for other electric vehicles. Currently, models equipped with this technology start at RMB 129,800 and have already been integrated with the TELD charging platform. Meanwhile, BYD unveiled its second-generation Blade Battery last week, which can charge from 10% to 70% in approximately 5 minutes under normal temperatures and demonstrates excellent performance even in low-temperature conditions. However, Skyworth emphasized that its technology was introduced earlier and offers more comprehensive functionality.
