Ford Motor Company recently unveiled its "Ford Pro AI" artificial intelligence system in Detroit, offering it free of charge to its 840,000 commercial subscribers as part of its telematics services. The system analyzes over 1 billion data points daily from connected commercial vehicles, covering areas such as seat belt usage, vehicle health, route optimization, and fuel consumption. Initially operating in a prompt-based, read-only mode, Ford Pro AI aims to help fleet managers improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and control costs. Ford Pro’s subscription base grew by 30% year-over-year in 2025. Last year, the business generated $66 billion in revenue and $6.8 billion in profit, achieving a profit margin of 10.3%. Built on Google Cloud, the system integrates Ford’s proprietary data and will be iteratively enhanced based on user needs—though it currently does not support autonomous decision-making. CEO Jim Farley emphasized that software and services represent a key growth pillar for the company, already contributing nearly 20% of Ford Pro’s profits.
