Elon Musk announced on Wednesday that Tesla, in collaboration with its artificial intelligence company xAI, is launching a new project called "Macrohard" (also known as "Digital Optimus") aimed at reshaping the software industry through AI technology. The project integrates xAI's Grok large language model as an advanced "navigator" with Tesla-developed AI agents capable of analyzing computer screen content in real time and autonomously performing keyboard and mouse operations to emulate the functions of various software applications. Musk stated on the social media platform X that this system has the potential to fundamentally transform human-computer interaction and the way software is used.
