LG Energy Solution announced it will begin mass-producing a newly upgraded lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery in 2027, featuring higher energy density and longer cycle life, aiming to deliver high-value solutions for energy storage systems. This marks the company's first public disclosure of its significantly enhanced LFP battery roadmap. In addition to LFP batteries, LG Energy Solution is also actively advancing sodium-based batteries and dry electrode coating technology to further reduce manufacturing costs. The company stated it will simultaneously expand into multiple high-growth sectors—including electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and humanoid robots—to strengthen its global competitiveness.
