Melexis Establishes Wholly-Owned Company in China to Accelerate Localization

Recently, Melexis, a global automotive semiconductor supplier, officially established its wholly-owned enterprise in China—Melexis Integrated Circuits (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.—headquartered in Shanghai. This move marks a critical step in the company’s localization strategy for 2026, aiming to advance end-to-end local manufacturing and support transactions settled in Renminbi (RMB). Having operated in the Chinese market for over 20 years, Melexis is now upgrading its China strategy by forming the “Melexis China” team and a dedicated robotics task force to accelerate the launch of new products. The new company will focus on cutting-edge areas such as electrification and robotics, enabling Melexis to better capture opportunities in the Chinese market and drive global business growth.
