According to the latest filings released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the BYD Qin MAX DM-i has officially debuted. The new model carries over the design language of its all-electric counterpart, featuring BYD’s "Dragon Face" aesthetic with a low-slung, sporty front end. It measures 4,866 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm—positioning it above the Qin L in BYD’s lineup. The rear features a full-width light bar that may illuminate the BYD logo, enhancing brand recognition. Notably, the vehicle offers an optional roof-mounted LiDAR system, further boosting its intelligent tech credentials. Powering the Qin MAX DM-i is a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine (74 kW max power) and an electric motor (175 kW max power), paired with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, thereby expanding BYD’s DM-i family portfolio.
