According to the latest announcement from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Chery has officially filed its Fengyun A9 EV sedan coupe. The vehicle measures 4,836 mm in length, 1,896 mm in width, and 1,489 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm, and is equipped with 235/45 R18 tires. It is powered by a 178 kW electric motor and paired with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. The model was first unveiled in January at the "Chery AI Night 2026" event, positioned as a "next-generation intelligent and stylish sedan coupe." It features an exterior design dubbed "Lingfeng Styling" and an interior theme named "Yangfan Yingyun" (Sails Reflecting Clouds). The car is equipped with the AI-powered "Boya Sound" audio system, supporting features such as AI-enabled mic-free karaoke and intelligent sound tuning. Its intelligent cabin integrates the Carmind AI agent and a 3nm Snapdragon 8678 chip. For driver assistance, it includes a LiDAR sensor and supports both urban and highway Navigation on Autopilot (NOA), delivering a computing power of 128 TOPS. Reports suggest the vehicle is expected to launch in the second quarter of this year and may also be offered in a range-extended variant.
