According to the latest announcement from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), BYD has officially filed its all-new Yuan PLUS. The vehicle features significantly extended dimensions of 4,665 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,770 mm—over 20 cm longer than the current model. The new model retains BYD’s family design language, with a front fascia resembling that of its larger sibling, the Tang, and offers an optional LiDAR system. Powertrain options include two electric motor variants delivering 200 kW or 240 kW. Reports indicate the new Yuan PLUS will likely be equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, featuring "flash charging" technology: it can charge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes, and even in extreme cold conditions of -20°C, it reaches 97% state of charge in only 12 minutes. The battery also boasts over 5% higher energy density and is compatible with various charging stations, enabling charging speeds 30%–50% faster than conventional EVs.
