On March 12, Great Wall Motor unveiled its global strategic model, the ORA 5, in Bangkok, Thailand, simultaneously launching a comprehensive brand refresh. ORA is moving beyond its previous "women-only" positioning and now targets "young urban lifestyle enthusiasts worldwide," with an upgraded brand proposition: "Shine Your Light." Built on Great Wall’s intelligent multi-power platform, the ORA 5 marks the brand’s first model to offer full powertrain coverage—including BEV, HEV, PHEV, and ICE—catering to diverse regional needs regarding energy replenishment infrastructure and usage scenarios. The ORA 5 HEV variant features a two-speed DHT hybrid system, achieving a combined fuel consumption as low as 4.5 L/100 km, while the ICE version employs a proven 1.5T engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (7DCT), delivering 6.4 L/100 km. All variants come standard with Coffee OS 3 intelligent cabin and Coffee Pilot 3 advanced driver-assistance systems, ensuring "equal intelligence across all powertrains." Leveraging a global user base of 600,000, ORA will use Thailand as its springboard, targeting a 40% sales increase by 2026 and committing an additional investment of THB 10 billion. The brand plans to expand its product lineup to cover multiple segments from A0 to A+ and accelerate its expansion into markets including Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America.
