On March 16, SAIC-GM-Wuling unveiled the core specifications of the fifth-generation Hongguang MINIEV, which is set to officially launch in late March. As the only model in its segment featuring a four-door, four-seat layout, it offers a front-to-rear seat distance of 793 mm, with rear headroom and legroom measuring 620 mm and 454 mm respectively. The vehicle is equipped with electrically operated independent windows totaling 2,016 cm² in area. The rear seats can be folded down in a 5:5 split, expanding the trunk capacity to 838 liters, and the cabin features 20 storage compartments throughout. Inside, the new model comes with brown-and-white checkered seats, a column-mounted gear shifter, a multifunction steering wheel, and a 10.1-inch smart touchscreen that supports four one-touch scene modes: Nap, Camping, Rain/Snow, and Pet. Additionally, the air conditioning system can be remotely controlled via a smartphone app, and future OTA updates will enable support for Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, and CarLink smartphone connectivity features.
