SAIC Volkswagen has officially unveiled its new flagship new-energy SUV—the ID. ERA9X—marking the beginning of a counteroffensive by joint-venture brands in the new-energy vehicle market. Positioned as a six-seater extended-range electric SUV, the ID. ERA9X measures 5,207 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,070 mm. It blends Chinese and German design philosophies, emphasizing a bold, pure, and rugged aesthetic. With an ultra-low drag coefficient of just 0.253 Cd and a CLTC-rated all-electric range exceeding 400 km, the vehicle delivers class-leading overall performance. Inside, the cabin offers two emotionally engaging color schemes—light tone and orange—and debuts the industry’s first nine-screen interactive system, enabling “equal seating experience for all six passengers.” The second-row seats feature dynamic zero-gravity functionality and cloud-like massage capabilities. The vehicle also boasts 40 storage compartments and a bidirectional smart refrigerator with both cooling and heating functions. Premium features include power-assisted soft-closing doors, rear doors that open up to an expansive 80 degrees, full-width LED light strips, and dual panoramic sunroofs equipped with electric sunshades—catering seamlessly to both family travel and high-end business needs.
