On March 16, Yu Dongming, General Manager of NIO Anhui, revealed that since the rollout of the new version of NIO World Model (NWM) in January this year, usage data for its intelligent driver-assistance system has seen a significant leap in the first month. According to the data, the total monthly mileage covered by driver-assistance features increased by 81.5% month-over-month, surpassing 200 million kilometers for the first time. Urban Navigation Pilot usage duration rose by 81.7% month-over-month, and its share of total driving time also increased by 81.0%. This update marks the first time in China that a complete closed-loop reinforcement learning approach has been applied to driver-assistance system development. Leveraging an architecture combining "World Model + Closed-Loop Reinforcement Learning," NIO has fully model-driven both urban and highway navigation pilot capabilities. The new version also introduces an urban Navigation Pilot battery swap feature, supporting over 2,000 Gen-2 and newer battery swap stations nationwide and remaining compatible with vehicle models launched as early as four years ago.
