On March 17, XPeng Motors held a launch event to detail the capabilities, rollout schedule, and medium- to long-term roadmap of its second-generation VLA technology. Chairman He Xiaopeng and Liu Xianming, Head of the General Intelligence Center, both attended the event. He Xiaopeng stated that both China and the U.S. belong to the leading tier in intelligent driving, but China’s road environments are more complex. XPeng’s second-generation VLA is specifically optimized for such scenarios and holds strong potential for global deployment. He emphasized that XPeng is at the forefront of China’s intelligent driving sector and expressed confidence that, together with domestic peers, the company can surpass the U.S. and expand globally. Liu Xianming added that China’s complex driving scenarios offer unique opportunities for technological advancement, and combined with abundant AI talent and supportive policies, the future of intelligent driving in China is highly promising.
