On February 27, Zotye Auto announced in a public filing that Lin Longhua, a non-independent director, had resigned for personal reasons and would be succeeded by Zhong Yufei. Previously, Li Lizhong had already stepped down from multiple positions on December 30 of last year. All three individuals have backgrounds linked to either Chery or the BBK Group, sparking external concerns that these two parties may be scaling back their involvement in Zotye’s restructuring. However, the company’s ninth board of directors still retains members with ties to Chery and BBK. Despite the potential exit of core shareholders, considering capital market performance and ongoing legal proceedings, there remains a glimmer of hope for Zotye Auto’s restructuring—possibly reflecting local governments’ determination to push forward corporate reorganization efforts.
