At the 2026 Yabuli China Entrepreneurs Forum annual meeting held on March 18, Hu Xiaoqing, General Manager of Yangwang Auto, stated that Yangwang is currently the Chinese automotive brand with the highest average selling price. She emphasized that to succeed in the premium segment, a brand must possess unique core technologies that competitors lack and find difficult to replicate. Each Yangwang model involves substantial investment, backed by BYD Group’s annual R&D expenditure exceeding RMB 50 billion and a team of over 10,000 engineers. Hu cited examples such as Yangwang’s “tank turn” capability—not merely a showy stunt but a demonstration of its independent four-motor control technology—and its “aquatic escape” function, which, though seemingly niche, can ensure user safety during emergencies like urban flooding. She stressed that the true value of a premium brand lies in delivering high-barrier, highly practical safety and technological assurances.
