BYD plans to hold a smart driving technology launch event in April, just one month after unveiling its second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology on March 5. This upcoming event is seen as a pivotal step in the company’s strategic shift from "electrification" to "intelligence." According to DiFans Home, key highlights may include BYD’s self-developed autonomous driving chip, a mass-production plan to equip vehicles across all price segments with LiDAR, and the integration of an advanced "World Model" algorithm to enhance vehicle perception and decision-making capabilities. Earlier, at the GTC 2026 conference, NVIDIA announced a collaboration with BYD to co-develop Level 4 autonomous driving technology, further fueling market expectations for BYD’s intelligent driving roadmap. Reports also suggest that even BYD’s entry-level model, the Seagull, will be equipped with LiDAR, signaling the company’s intent to fully roll out its intelligent strategy across its lineup in 2026. Official details regarding the exact date and specifics of the event have not yet been announced.
