At the recent "Chery Battery Night" event, Chery announced significant progress in its solid-state battery technology and unveiled a clear mass-production roadmap: hybrid solid-liquid batteries will be deployed in vehicles by 2026, followed by on-vehicle validation of all-solid-state batteries starting in 2027. The first model to feature hybrid solid-liquid batteries will be the Exeed EX7, with an energy density exceeding 300 Wh/kg; the all-solid-state batteries will debut on the Exeed ES8. Chery’s solid-state batteries pursue dual technical routes—sulfide-based and polymer-based—with energy densities reaching over 400 Wh/kg and 600 Wh/kg, respectively, enabling a driving range of more than 1,500 kilometers. Additionally, Chery introduced its "Xunlong Flash Charging" technology, featuring a single-charger peak power of 1.2 MW, capable of delivering a 500-kilometer range with just 8 minutes of charging. The company plans to build 20,000 ultra-fast charging stations equipped with V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) functionality by 2029. Furthermore, Chery has established the comprehensive "Rhino" battery portfolio, covering hybrid, pure electric, and solid-state battery technologies, incorporating multiple chemistries and structural formats to comprehensively advance next-generation power battery solutions.
