On March 18, Chery and Geely simultaneously released their 2025 financial reports. Chery reported revenue of RMB 300.29 billion, up 11.3% year-over-year, and net profit of RMB 19.51 billion, a significant increase of 36.1%. Geely posted revenue of RMB 345.23 billion, up 25% year-over-year, with net profit of RMB 16.63 billion, a modest 2% increase. In terms of sales volume, BYD maintained its leading position with 4.602 million vehicles sold, up 7.7% year-over-year. Geely and Chery sold 3.025 million and 2.631 million vehicles respectively, representing year-over-year growth of 39% and 8%—outpacing BYD’s growth rate. Although Geely achieved higher overall revenue, Chery demonstrated stronger profit growth. Both automakers are accelerating their efforts to catch up with BYD, the leader in the new energy vehicle segment.
