Mercedes-AMG’s first all-electric crossover SUV—the AMG GT SUV—was recently spotted undergoing road testing. Despite heavy camouflage, the vehicle clearly features the brand’s new three-pointed-star LED matrix headlights and production-ready lighting units. The interior closely mirrors that of the upcoming all-electric AMG GT four-door coupe, equipped with sport bucket seats, a high center console, and dedicated drive-mode selector knobs. The display layout returns to an independent design, featuring a 10.2-inch instrument cluster and a 14.0-inch central infotainment screen. Powering the vehicle are likely three YASA axial-flux electric motors, expected to deliver a maximum output of 1,341 horsepower. Notably, despite its formidable performance capabilities, the test car is fitted with relatively small, non-vented brake discs—a configuration likely enabled by the 800V high-voltage architecture, which provides strong regenerative braking and reduces reliance on conventional friction brakes.
